My students, who thrive on hands-on and sensory-rich learning, have been using these resources during structured centers and play-based activities throughout the day. For example, during literacy time, students are matching letters to objects and using manipulatives to build simple words, while in math, they are exploring counting, sorting, and number recognition through tactile activities. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the excitement was immediate and genuine. Students were drawn to the bright colors, textures, and interactive elements. Many who typically struggle to engage during traditional instruction were eager to participate, explore, and communicate. The materials have not only increased engagement but have also supported communication, social interaction, and confidence in a way that feels natural and joyful for my students.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the weighted sensory materials have made a powerful difference in helping my students regulate throughout the day. Many of my students benefit from deep pressure input to feel calm and organized, and these tools provide that support in a safe and consistent way. We use them during transitions, whole group instruction, and independent work times to help students stay focused and ready to learn. As a result, students are better able to remain engaged, participate in activities, and access instruction with greater independence and comfort.","fullyFundedDate":1760881765956,"projectUrl":"project/making-differences/9825382/","projectTitle":"Making Differences","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Emily","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10310978"},{"teacherId":1972114,"projectId":9823773,"letterContent":"I teach 2nd and 3rd grade special education, so not only do I push into the classroom to support the teachers and students, I also have a separate space if students need to refocus, take a break or utilize one on one opportunities. When the students walked in and saw the cozy area that included the rug and seating options, they were very excited. \r\n\r\nBecause I am a special education teacher, the students I work with need extra support with focus, organization and practicing mindfulness. When the students come in to the room, they know what space they can go to with an assignment or a book. It helps create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere for the students (and the teacher!). When I am working with one or two students, the other students can visit the rug and cushions. It helps with noise and energy level, which is needed when other students are working. Additionally, the students were happy to see new books! The books by author Jory John are always great picks! Not only are they cute and funny, but they teach a lesson to all those who read it. I'm very grateful the students have such an inviting classroom space thanks to my doners!","fullyFundedDate":1760585126986,"projectUrl":"project/a-love-for-reading/9823773/","projectTitle":"A Love for Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. C","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1972114_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1571335848596","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/h-czajkowski"},{"teacherId":3281664,"projectId":9821955,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the generous donations to my classroom! My students are thrilled with the materials we received, and phrases like \"These are so cool!\" and \"I really love using this. It's like a game.\" have been used, along with many smiles.\r\n\r\nThe comfy chairs are amazing, and such an upgrade from our plastic \"rocking\" chairs that students had been using. I have noticed more focus on the iPad reading program and other classwork on the carpet, and less rocking/moving around and playing since these chairs were introduced.\r\n\r\nWe are using the magnetic phonics center and dry erase boards in small groups and as a reading center. Students love sounding out their words and locating the letters to create the word on the magnetic board. The magnetic phonics center is a great tool to use when differentiating small group instruction, as it contains digraphs, blends, and vowel combinations that can be used with more advanced students. The dry erase boards are always a favorite in small groups. The size of these is perfect given the number of students that fit at the table.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for donating these tools to my kindergarten friends! We will enjoy them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1760357553066,"projectUrl":"project/comfy-and-useful-classroom-tools-for-sma/9821955/","projectTitle":"Comfy and Useful Classroom Tools for Small Group Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Seamans","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3281664_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509929362225","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3281664"},{"teacherId":926034,"projectId":9835522,"letterContent":"Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to have more flexibility and choice within our classroom. Many of my students struggle with attention and focus. Giving them the autonomy to choose flexible seating, or use the desk bands allows them to have more movement in the classroom. They are more motivated to be independent and complete their tasks when they have the choice to move away from their desk.\r\n\r\nI have also been using the flexible seating and small group reading resources to allow the students to work in small groups without direct teacher support. They enjoy playing the Splash games and are able to set up and clean up without my help. We have also just begun to use some of the math place value games to support their understanding with more hands on materials. \r\n\r\nThank you again for allowing my students to express themselves and feel more included and supported in my classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1760910794304,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-environment-upgrades/9835522/","projectTitle":"Classroom Environment Upgrades","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cooney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ecooney"},{"teacherId":10312835,"projectId":9830697,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the materials, they were genuinely shocked by the amount of extra resources and immediately eager to use them. Their curiosity and excitement were clear as they explored the new tools, and many students asked when they could start using them. The materials felt special to them, which helped build enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward learning right from the start.\r\n\r\nSince introducing the materials, student engagement has continued to grow. The magnet letters attached to a rolling whiteboard provide easy access for practicing phonics, and students are enjoying the snap-and-match rhyming game, often viewing it as a fun reward at the end of reading time. They are also using the fluency cards to build their reading fluency and are highly motivated to discover what each new story will be about next.","fullyFundedDate":1760665580903,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-literacy-learning-in-a-self-co/9830697/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Literacy Learning in a Self-Contained Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sudimak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10312835"},{"teacherId":5111220,"projectId":9819950,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, these new books are already having a big impact in our classroom.
