We use the snacks and beverages throughout our class periods to help students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn, especially during longer blocks when attention can fade. One meaningful moment that stood out was seeing a student who typically struggles to stay engaged remain on task the entire period after having a snack and drink; something as simple as that made a real difference in their ability to participate. When the materials first arrived, students were genuinely excited and grateful; many of them immediately expressed how much it meant to have access to something they don't always have during the school day. The slushie maker quickly became a favorite, not just as a treat, but as a fun and motivating reward that students are eager to work toward.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to use these resources to build a positive and supportive classroom culture where students feel cared for and motivated. The snacks and drinks will remain a consistent support, while the slushie maker will continue to be used as an incentive tied to participation, effort, and positive choices. As we move into upcoming lessons, I plan to incorporate more student goal-setting and accountability, allowing them to earn rewards through both academic growth and community-building behaviors. Your support has helped create an environment where students feel valued and ready to engage, and that impact will continue to shape both their learning and their confidence moving forward.","fullyFundedDate":1778156888979,"projectUrl":"project/snack-sip-succeed-supporting-my-stude/10213892/","projectTitle":"Snack, Sip, Succeed: Supporting My Students Daily","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10316021_orig.jpg?crop=360,360,x0,y140&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760639560212","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10316021"},{"teacherId":3622758,"projectId":10195982,"letterContent":"Game changer!!! One of the items that generated the most excitement was the set of walkie-talkies. Our Stage Craft students immediately jumped into action, setting them up, labeling them, and preparing them for use in upcoming productions. These will greatly improve communication and coordination both during class projects and at our theater productions.\r\n\r\nAlthough we have not yet had the opportunity to fully utilize the Musical Anthology books, as our Musical Theater class had already concluded for the year, students who are enrolled for next year have already started exploring the collection. It has been exciting to watch them flip through the books, discover new songs, and begin imagining future performances and projects.\r\n\r\nThe pencils may seem like a small addition, but they have quickly become an invaluable classroom resource. While I keep them in my office to ensure they remain available when needed, students have been incredibly appreciative of having reliable access to writing materials during classes, rehearsals, and production meetings.\r\n\r\nAs we look ahead, these resources will continue to play an important role in our students' learning experiences. The walkie-talkies will be used during productions to help students develop real-world technical theater and communication skills, while the anthology books will inspire song selections and performance opportunities for future Musical Theater classes.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make these resources possible. One of the first units we completed this year was based on the Bill of Rights. So we studied those texts and had amazing discussions about American laws and rights, etc. \r\n\r\nI asked for the donationof paper that has an ancient, or old, look to them, like an old document that simulates these documents they've been studying. And throughout all of our writing lessons, which were extensive, we created a list of non-negotiable, must-be-followed, \"laws\" for writing. Then the students added one of these laws to the fancy paper and it has been displayed in the classroom for them to follow. The new materials you helped provide — especially the engineering notebooks — have given students access to a different kind of literacy: learning how to interpret information, ask questions, and use evidence to solve real problems.\r\nThe engineering notebooks have been one of the most impactful pieces of the donation. Students document their thinking the same way real engineers do: recording ideas, labeling diagrams, tracking test results, and reflecting on what went wrong and why. They begin to see that mistakes are not failures but data. Writing in these notebooks helps students slow down, think carefully, and communicate their reasoning. For many students, this is the first time school has felt connected to a real profession.\r\nYour donation didn't just add supplies to a classroom — it changed how students see learning. They are not simply completing assignments; they are acting as engineers. They read with purpose, write with intention, and approach challenges with persistence.
