Your support put engaging, high-interest books and essential reading tools directly into the hands of young learners who are just beginning their literacy journey, and the impact has been immediate and exciting to witness.\r\n\r\nStudents are eager to choose books from our new collection during independent reading time. Along with these books, the word pointers you provided have helped students learn how to properly track print from left to right and match spoken words to written text. This simple tool has made a big difference in helping early readers build confidence and accuracy.\r\n\r\nThe dry erase boards with writing lines have also been a tremendous help. Students use them daily to practice sight words, sentence writing, and phonics skills. Having the lines as a guide supports proper letter formation and spacing, giving students the structure they need as they develop foundational writing skills that support their reading growth.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped create a classroom environment where reading and writing feel joyful, accessible, and empowering.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your donation has helped foster a true love of reading at an early age. You have given my students tools that will support them not only this year, but throughout their entire academic journey.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and in the future of these young readers. This project has been a hit - students are exploring the ideas of narratives and how they can communicate a narrative visually. The narrative they are brainstorming? It's all about THEM! \r\n\r\nStudents are using our new collection of beads and sticky felt to design bead collages full of meaning and identity. Each color and bead chosen is meant to represent something connected to the artist. These projects are in progress and won't be complete with student's written reflections for another couple of weeks, but I am so happy to report that so far, it has been a hit. \r\n\r\nOur 1st and 2nd graders will begin using their letter stamps and beads next week to begin building their own exploratory identity collages, full of words that are meaningful to them. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping me boost the literacy connection in our art room! Specifically, they got to create biography flip books, which would not have been possible without the books. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they explore new musicians\r\n.\r\nIn addition to the books, the rhythm manipulatives and writing materials have enriched our daily learning experiences. The manipulatives allow students to engage in hands-on rhythm activities that strengthen listening, coordination, and audiation skills, while the writing supplies give them the tools they need to express their musical creativity through writing their own music. It was so engaging and relatable. I also have books on display in my office so students to browse when they need something to relate to their situation.\r\n\r\nI was able to get almost the entire Little Spot collection of books about feelings and social emotional learning and my 1st graders have been loving the series.
