My students were ecstatic when the boxes arrived in the classroom, and they couldn't wait to make their very own block prints.\r\nThe timing was perfect, as we had just finished writing journals from the perspective of Silk Route travelers and wrapping up our large unit on movement and cultural diffusion. So we learned about Japanese block printing and each student created their own print inspired by Japanese landscapes or traditional block prints topics such as kabuki actors and Tori gates.
