When we are frustrated, worried, angry, excited, or overwhelmed, our thoughts can feel just as busy. By shaking their Glitter Jitter Jar and then watching the glitter slowly settle, students practice pausing, breathing, and giving themselves time to reset.\r\n\r\nThe best part is that these jars are more than just a fun project. They are a tool students can continue to use when they need help regulating their emotions. Each student was able to take their jar home, giving them a simple strategy they can use both at school and with their families.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make hands on experiences like this possible. The students are able to program these robots. Directly on the top of the robot are arrow keys. Students learn that the Bee Bot will move 6 inches with ever forward or backward button press. Knowing this students practice estimating by estimating how many forwards they need to press for the Bee Bot to arrive at a particular location. The discovery during these activities are enormous. \r\n\r\nOther times when we use these Bee Bots, the students have a Bee Bot Mat, like a road for the robot. The squares on the mat are one forward away from each other. So the students will have to program the bee bot with a series of forwards, and turns. Once they are done programing the Bee Bot, they place the robot at the starting point and begin to run the program.
