Here is a glimpse of how your generosity has transformed our space:\r\n\r\nMulticultural Family Pictures: Our students absolutely love seeing images of diverse families from all around the world. But the impact hasn't stopped inside the classroom walls! We placed these pictures on our classroom windows, and it has been moving to watch parents and family members stop in the hallway, smile, and point out the families that look like them to their children.\r\n\r\nMultilingual Greetings: Along our windows, we also displayed the \"Hello\" and \"Goodbye\" cards in various languages to showcase the rich linguistic diversity of our school. This simple addition created unexpected moments of connection. In fact, we had both a substitute teacher and a substitute janitor stop by the classroom just to excitedly point out their native languages on our window displays!\r\n\r\nEssential Learning Tools: The resources designed for newcomer English Language Learners at the beginning stages of language acquisition have been game-changers. They provided critical, tailored support for my students who had not received prior academic instruction in their home countries, giving them a confident starting point in their educational journey.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is not only a place of academic growth, but also a welcoming beacon where students, families, and staff feel seen, valued, and celebrated.\r\nThank you once again for making this possible!","fullyFundedDate":1755142618144,"projectUrl":"project/multicultural-and-multilingual-classroom/9577787/","projectTitle":"Multicultural and Multilingual Classroom Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Coraly Gonzales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10170304_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755688619419","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10170304"},{"teacherId":2946335,"projectId":9978762,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donations for our readers theatre project! The set of books has closed the gap in my library of materials for speech-language therapy, so that I have a better sequence of stories to use to teach story comprehension, story retell, and perspective-taking skills. I have attached a few photos of students celebrating our new collection of books and using them in action. I use a story diagram that is a braided rope with charms that each represent a different story element (characters, setting, the problem, the emotional reaction, the resolution). I have a set of colored rubber spots that match the story diagram. Students walk on the path of spots as they retell the story, and it elicits a complete story as if they were telling the story themselves, rather than having me ask them a question for each part. Being able to use the Surf Lap Desks to sit on the floor while still having a surface to write on, read from, or even use their Chromebooks on has made so much of a difference. Also, by having the colorful sand timers with a variety of times available and the various fidgets that you provided, my students have been able to better manage and regulate their needs. It is essential that my students learn what they need in order to regulate themselves, and since they will soon be in middle school, I encourage them to take steps towards self-regulation that can be done independently and as they feel the need.
