The little boxes with small items have been a particular hit. My students love how colorful they are. They also have numbers on the outside as well as corresponding dots on the inside. This allows us to incorporate number concepts into our communication therapy. My students love to open the boxes and see what is inside. Both the opening and the finding offer multiple opportunities for communication including requests, commenting, acknowledging, and protesting.\r\n\r\nThe categories game has been essential to expanding my students' vocabularies. They are learning new words, new ways to group words, and making semantic connections to other vocabulary in their environments.\r\n\r\nThe gem toy is also a hit, both for communication therapy and for fine motor skills. The nature of the toy requires students to use two hands in coordination, which can be difficult for my students.
