It really is hard to believe how much growth and maturity has come to these kids in the first half of this school year alone - the program is that good and these kids are even better!\r\n\r\nIt comes with sacrifice however, and for the Class of 2026, that sacrifice is sleep. This cohort of Diploma candidates is starting school at 7:15 - the time some of their classmates are just getting out of bed. We've tried to take the sting out of that by setting up a little breakfast bar in one of our classrooms.\r\n\r\nThe kids had such fun setting things up - deciding where the creamers should go and whether the snacks and juices belonged in the same deawer or separate ones - and somehow the smell of freshly brewed coffee and tea in the morning make the sleepdeficit just slightly smaller (high protien snacks in the belly certainly help as well!). \r\n\r\nThis project was funded largely by parents. Your kindness could not have come at a more important time. Many of our students are facing unprecedented financial challenges, and essentials that many people take for granted, such as feminine hygiene products, have become increasingly difficult for them to access consistently. When family budgets tighten, these necessities are often deprioritized, leaving students without what they need to feel secure and prepared for the school day.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contribution, we are now able to create a small, discreet hub within our classroom stocked with pads, tampons, and hygiene kits. This space will provide students with a reliable, judgment-free place to take what they need, when they need it. No student should have to miss class, feel embarrassed, or experience unnecessary stress because they lack basic supplies, and your generosity helps ensure they won't have to.\r\n\r\nYour support directly addresses period poverty, a barrier that disproportionately affects students from low-income families. By providing consistent access to these essential items, you are helping our students feel more comfortable and confident, allowing them to participate fully in their education. This project promotes wellness, dignity, and equity at a time when our school community needs stability more than ever.\r\n\r\nPlease know that your gift has an immediate and meaningful impact. Because of you, our students can stay in the classroom, focus on learning, and worry a little less about the hardships they may be facing at home.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and investing in their well-being.
