In many schools, including our district, most curriculums have started incorporating increased online aspects, and these online aspects have helped to make the curriculum more accessible. This includes read aloud literature, textbooks, and other audio materials that go along with our curriculum. Using audio materials helps students who have challenges with reading and decoding words access curriculum and demonstrate their learning. \r\n\r\nThe part of the new headphones that students were most excited about were the included microphones. One online program we use to promote reading, decoding, and reading comprehension includes a piece where students can record themselves reading a word or a sound. This program has been a favorite for my students, so having headphones that allows them to access this part of the program has been very exciting for my students. The microphones have also helped them to learn computer skills, as well as helping some of my students learn how to use a microphone to dictate essays, Google searches, and to help them spell words they are unfamiliar with. \r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for the donation, and we look forward for the possibility of this new technology benefitting multiple years of classes.
