The blacklight materials (flashlights, highlighters, and tape) will help students focus on critical reading skills. These materials will literally make the text stand out and the most important information stand out. Using these ideas will help all students connect and remember the text and skills they will use. The translator tool will allow students to communicate with me and their peers developing skills that are needed to succeed outside the classroom. Students often struggle to learn English when their home language is different. This tool allows students to work and engage at the same level improving relationships and the desire to succeed at school. The stools and the playground equipment are there to improve the classroom environment and team-building activities. Our students need to connect on so many levels and these items will help students play, build, problems solve, create, and engage.
