They start by building a base structure out of recycled cardboard, which they carefully cut using the chomp saw—something they absolutely love and feel very empowered using. Then, they layer plaster over their designs and finish by painting them with detailed textures and colors. It's been amazing to see their creativity come to life through this process.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure excitement. They were eager to jump in, ask questions, and start creating right away. Many of them immediately began sharing ideas about what types of food they wanted to make, from pizzas and burgers to desserts. Their enthusiasm set such a positive tone for the entire project.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for our students are to build on these skills by focusing more on detail, realism, and storytelling. We plan to incorporate elements of imaginative play and presentation, where students will \"showcase\" their food creations as part of a mock restaurant or food display. This will help them develop not only their artistic techniques, but also communication, collaboration, and confidence as they share their work with others.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making these meaningful, hands-on learning experiences possible!","fullyFundedDate":1768424581562,"projectUrl":"project/plaster-art-sculptures/9893352/","projectTitle":"Plaster Art Sculptures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jennifer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8169745_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x158,y140&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1660767500203","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8169745"},{"teacherId":8169745,"projectId":9858302,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support and for helping bring new resources to our students. Because of you, our outdoor play and learning time has become even more engaging, active, and joyful.\r\n\r\nOur students are already making great use of the new materials. They've been spending more time outdoors, playing organized group games, building teamwork skills, and enjoying the opportunity to be active together. Having additional equipment has expanded the types of games we can offer and allowed more students to participate at the same time.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to pump up the balls and jump right into play. Their enthusiasm and smiles made it clear how meaningful these resources are to them.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using this equipment as part of lessons focused on cooperation, turn-taking, and following rules during group games. We are also building in time for students to reflect on teamwork, sportsmanship, and problem-solving as they play. These experiences are helping them grow not only physically, but socially and emotionally as well.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom, and we are so grateful for your support. Additionally, the laminator has really helped to create items for learning stations that are durable and can last after several uses. \r\n\r\nI think for my students their favorite item has been their classroom mailbox. It is where they turn in some of their classwork and it has really fostered some independence pride in completing their work. Sometimes when they also draw artwork or other crafts they ask to turn them into the mailbox so they can show their families. I also have students help sort some of our work into these mailboxes so it not only helps them learn the names of their classmates but it also gives them a chance to be helpful in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755739248992,"projectUrl":"project/keep-kinders-organized-and-curious/9597770/","projectTitle":"Keep Kinders Organized and Curious","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Young","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4980293_orig.jpg?crop=3262,3262,x0,y141&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629077826151","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/alissa-garcia"},{"teacherId":12223,"projectId":9534523,"letterContent":"Since receiving my wonderful Donors Choose materials my classroom is now allowing greater accessibility to the children's art books I display about artists we are currently learning about and art movements, such as Impressionism and Surrealism.\r\n\r\nNow, instead of a big hassle when we have 30 art projects that need drying and are put all over the room, we put them on our new drying rack.
