During instruction, students can pull out their individual dry-erase whiteboards for quick checks for understanding. The low-stakes nature of the whiteboards has completely eliminated the fear of making mistakes—students who used to hesitate now hold up their answers with pride. During brain breaks, our chess, checkers, and card games have created an opportunity for organic peer interaction.\r\n\r\nA memorable moment happened during a recent game of speed: two students who rarely interact paired up over a game of speed reminding each other how to play in a calm and supportive way. Meanwhile, our silly bookmarks have become a bright spot when we start a new novel. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived and we unboxed the colorful whiteboards, game sets, and bookmarks, the classroom lit up. The ROAR Store is our PBIS-focused student store, where students can use tokens they earn for demonstrating positive behaviors, making good choices, and contributing to our school community. Before this project, we had very limited items for students to choose from, which made it difficult to keep the store engaging. Thanks to our DonorsChoose donors, we were able to fully stock the store with a wide variety of items, giving students a plethora of options to choose from. The reaction from students has been incredible! The store has quickly become a success, and students are excited to see what they can earn and save their tokens for.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts has been seeing students recognize that their positive actions are being noticed and celebrated. While waiting in line, students will often ask one another, \"Who awarded you your tokens?\" and \"What did you do to earn them?\" These conversations have created a culture where students are talking about positive behavior and recognizing the actions that earn their peers rewards. At the same time, our Leadership students run the ROAR Store and are gaining valuable real-world skills. They practice customer service by greeting students, helping them make choices, counting tokens, organizing inventory, and completing transactions. They are also strengthening their clerical and organizational skills as they manage the store and keep track of supplies. What began as a small student reward store has become a hands-on learning experience that teaches responsibility, communication, organization, and leadership.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping us create a ROAR Store that is not only rewarding positive behavior but also building important skills and strengthening our school culture. Your generosity has given our students more choices, more opportunities to be recognized, and a space where they can practice skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. Your kindness is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. The snacks we received are being used throughout the school day to help students stay energized, focused, and ready to learn. We know that it is difficult for students to fully concentrate, participate, and engage in their schoolwork when they are hungry. Having access to a snack gives students the opportunity to refuel when they need it so they can return their attention to learning. Whether they need a quick boost in the morning or something to help them get through the afternoon, our students now have a welcoming and dependable place to find a snack. Your donation is helping us address an important need while creating a classroom environment where students feel supported and cared for.\r\n\r\nOur students especially love seeing the snack pantry fully stocked with a variety of choices! Their excitement when they see the shelves filled is one of the most rewarding parts of this project. They enjoy having different options and being able to choose a snack they like. More importantly, the pantry sends our students an important message: their needs matter, and there are people who care about their well-being and success. Your generosity helps ensure that students can spend their school hours focused on learning rather than distracted by hunger. Every snack they take is a small but meaningful reminder of the support behind them.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping make their school day a little brighter, easier, and more successful.
