The students were inspired by her story and stayed engaged while reading. In addition, having such a variety of reading-level books about the same person truly helped bridge the gap for so many of the students. They were able to read at their level, but still have conversations discussing her activism. \r\nAfter we completed this book, many of them went on to read additional non-fiction books about famous people in our history. They especially loved the Who Is? series, but I only had a few to choose from.
