The smelly pencils and bookmarks are earned after moving to the next reading level. They also have been pumped to read our new books. We bring out our special colorful pencils for our writing tasks. Students are loving the the calming tools, to help them reset and get back on task. Your support has transformed a simple display into a central hub for creativity and learning.\r\n\r\nOur new writing wall is a powerful teaching tool. We now have a dedicated space to showcase student work, track our progress on different writing projects, and highlight key concepts we're learning about. For a recent project on narrative writing, my students loved seeing their published stories displayed for everyone to read. They took pride in having their work out there and were inspired by their classmates' creativity. One student even used a classmate's story as inspiration for their own, which led to a wonderful discussion about learning from each other. The students were so excited when the first pieces of writing went up on the wall, and I saw a new sense of ownership over our classroom. They would constantly stop and read each other's work and proudly show their own to visitors. It truly felt like a gallery opening.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're building on this momentum. We're currently working on a unit about persuasive writing, and the students are looking forward to the moment when their opinion pieces get to go up on the wall. This new writing wall has given our students a platform to not only share their voices but also to become more confident and engaged learners. It's a gift that keeps on giving, and we're so grateful for your support in making it happen.","fullyFundedDate":1701125583548,"projectUrl":"project/revamping-our-classroom-writing-wall/8037746/","projectTitle":"Revamping our Classroom Writing Wall!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Josh DeMesa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8687364_orig.png?crop=1500,1500,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663113012526","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8687364"},{"teacherId":9757828,"projectId":8798456,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous support of my classroom project, \"Diverse Books and Games That Get Students Talking Most.\" Your donation means so much to me and my students!\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, we will now have new books, engaging games, and classroom essentials. I have students in grades UTK-3rd grade in my classroom throughout the day for support on their IEP goals. The donations truly excited all of my small group, student communities. My hope and goal for this project was for my students to explore different tools that they can use for self-regulation and coping skills. Once, they learned which tools benefited their personal needs, then they were able to be used to enhance their focus and attention on the assigned academic tasks. \r\n\r\nIt was so fun to see the expressions on the students' faces when they saw the new items in our classroom. They were so excited that we worked together to create a rotation schedule so each student could try the different flexible seating: wobble stool, the seat cushion, the sensory foot pad, and the noise canceling headphones. The fidgets and items used for small motor strength delighted the students. I found the hand2mind sensory timers stimulated the minds of all of my students, and the Axolotl bendy toys inspired one of my students to use his coping skills to earn class rewards. \r\n\r\nThe students developed their own agency and advocated for what they needed to help them focus and attend to their reading, writing or math lessons. I noticed how each item that was donated contributed to the students social/emotional growth to self-regulate and then attend to assigned tasks. This increased their motivation, stamina and confidence. Thank you, again for your thoughtful donation to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1733297584910,"projectUrl":"project/take-a-journey-within-and-find-yourself/8945124/","projectTitle":"Take a Journey Within, and Find Yourself Waiting for You.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hays","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9838201_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x678,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731628881610","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9838201"},{"teacherId":3788067,"projectId":8736408,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well.
