I teach the literacy block to all the fourth graders at my school. I push them to read diverse literature and analyze the meaning and author’s purpose. This leads way to communicating their ideas more effectively through writing, and projects. I am constantly trying to meet my diverse students’ needs giving choices to help them stay engaged and focused. Everyone learns differently and I am trying to provide more positive opportunities in my classroom with these chairs. My hopes are these positive thoughts can carry with them through life. Having active chairs in my classroom will strengthen the community I build with my students by creating agreements on how we use them. I also feel these chairs will help my students in positives ways to stay engaged in all different activities even if they have the need to move. By giving them opportunities to feel positive about their learning will strengthen their self-belief.
