As I mentioned in my project write up, this is the 2nd year of the Modern Band program at our school and the classes are completely full this year, so the guitars and amplifiers have made it possible for more students to have the opportunity to play electric guitars in class. First of all, they're helping my students learn the critical skill of patience because so many students want a chance to play through those amps every day, but we only have 2 of them :) In other words, my students LOVE the amplifiers!! They really are a lot of fun. They have about 30 different pre-programmed sounds that students can choose from to make their guitars sound just like their favorite guitar players. Because the different sounds are so fun to play with, students are spending more time practicing which leads to quicker skill development and progress. So it's really a win-win situation. \r\n\r\nIn particular, I have 2 guitar players that get to school almost an hour early every day to practice on the amps. They're actively recruiting other students to join their band. But when the performance happened, we weren't able to get her piano loud enough in the mix to be heard. :( Hence, my request for a digital piano.
