We have a variety of projects outlined for the distance-learning school year. As Ceramics teachers, we really had to reinvent our curriculum. We put together a modest art kit for the students which contained air-dry clay and clay tools. Now that the students have been introduced to sculpting, it would be amazing to provide them with materials that will allow them to be more expressive with their projects. The air-dry clay has provided a great opportunity so far for our class to learn about form, texture, and space. Using paint would incorporate color, line, and value. I think that using paint can replace glazing, which is the most fun and magical part of ceramics!
