They have been using the EXPO dry erase markers and Crayola fine line markers to create colorful charts and graphs, practice problem-solving on whiteboards, and collaborate in groups. One memorable moment was when students used the Lakeshore plastic pattern blocks and integer number lines to model math problems. Visually seeing abstract concepts come to life made them light up with understanding.\r\n\r\nWhen students saw the materials. They were thrilled! Many immediately wanted to try out the markers, scissors, and colored pencils. They were excited to have supplies of their own to work with, and I noticed more students eagerly participating in lessons and group activities than ever before. It was inspiring to see their confidence grow with every new project.\r\n\r\nNext, students will use these supplies to create interactive math projects, like measuring objects with meter sticks, designing visual representations of data, and building board game-style activities with dice and playing cards to practice probability. These projects will allow students to apply concepts creatively while continuing to collaborate, problem-solve, and strengthen their math skills using the resources you provided.","fullyFundedDate":1755803710516,"projectUrl":"project/class-startup-missing-items/9341477/","projectTitle":"Class Startup Missing Items","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rosales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10011704_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755803982912","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10011704"},{"teacherId":3342304,"projectId":9749406,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generous support of our Día de los Muertos Cultural Project. Because of your donation, my students received all the art materials they needed to create alebrijes and symbolic paintings, connecting their Spanish learning to real cultural experiences. When the supplies arrived, their excitement filled the room—students couldn't wait to start painting and bringing their colorful creatures to life.\r\n\r\nThese new resources have transformed our classroom into a space of creativity and collaboration. As students designed their alebrijes, they learned about Mexican folk art and practiced describing their creations in Spanish. Others expressed deep emotion and symbolism through their paintings, reflecting the values of remembrance and celebration that define Día de los Muertos. It was amazing to see them take pride in their work and make meaningful cultural connections beyond the textbook.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to display the students' artwork in the school library so that the entire campus can appreciate their creativity and cultural learning. This project has inspired them to see language as more than words—it's a way to connect with art, history, and identity. These materials have truly made a positive difference in their daily routines and overall confidence.\r\n\r\nEach day, my students use their deodorants, toothbrushes, duster, disinfectant wipes, and microfiber cloths as part of their personal hygiene and classroom cleaning routines. They have learned how to brush their teeth properly, keep themselves fresh (ran out of mouthwash quickly), and clean their shared spaces—including windows, tables, door handles, and classroom equipment. It's been inspiring to see them take pride in maintaining a clean and healthy environment where they can thrive.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were eager to explore everything and quickly took ownership of their new items. For many of them, having their own hygiene supplies was both empowering and motivating—it made them feel responsible and cared for. \r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students involve continuing to build these habits into their everyday lives. They are learning that cleanliness and self-care are essential parts of being independent and responsible individuals. Carrying their toothbrushes with them each day reinforces accountability and helps them remember the importance of maintaining good hygiene, no matter where they are. Students are also aware that they can come to me if they need extra materials.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students have not only learned valuable life skills but have also developed confidence, independence, and a strong sense of community.
