More than 70% of the students at the high school where I teach qualify for free or reduced lunch. Add to this the fact that a high population of our students are also English Language Learners. Additionally, many of our students reading skills are below standard. As we know, poverty is a cycle. I intend to contribute to the breaking of this cycle by helping my students improve their reading and language skills.

About my class
