Locks for students skateboards and scooters will be beneficial to all students. For many of our students, their skateboards and scooters are the only transportation they have to and from school. Secondly, locks will allow students to focus on their studies and not on whether or not their transportation is secure. Most of our students carry their "transportation" around in order to ensure its safety. Safe schools allow students to become engaged in an environment that promotes social and creative learning. School oftentimes is a place where the basic safety needs are being met and our students need a place where they can be confident their possessions are secure during the day. When students are at risk for not feeling safe and comfortable at school they may stop showing up, or they may remain on edge throughout the day. If we are able to promote school safety it creates an open space for kids to explore, learn and grow.
