The materials in this project have been very useful for my class and have definitely had an impact on how smoothly our class is able to run. The pencil box materials have also helped my students to become more responsible for their own learning materials and to keep track of everything they need for learning.\r\n\r\nA large collection of pencils has set us up for the entire school year to have group stashes. Each group has their own collection in a carrier with sharpened and dull pencils. Team captains take the initiative each morning to sharpen their team's pencils and ensure they have a full supply for the day. The crayons and glue sticks have proven to be very handy during science when placing FOSS investigation sheets into their science journals or adding notebook entries of what they have observed and learned from the experiments. Colored pencils have made color coding model paragraphs and essays a great visual scaffold for supporting my scholars in their own writing and formatting of paragraphs and essays and has allowed them to easily spot what their own written pieces might be missing.\r\n\r\nHighlighters have also been handy for students to use when reading articles connected to our anchor curriculum texts when they are reading to gather evidence in independent and collaborative tasks or when leaving their peers critiquing feedback on their independent writing. A Community School provides things that perhaps students would other worry about versus focusing on instruction in school. \r\n\r\n This particular class benefited from your loving donation by having something warm to drink when it was very cold and wet outside. You provide snacks for those who had no breakfast in the morning. Hats to help keep their body heat inside. My students were able to focus on being a child who was happy and healthy instead of being hungry and cold. \r\n \r\n Personally, I am grateful of all donations given to Donors Choose to all the postings on their website. It is not easy to provide for students basic needs through the district, state, and/or government. Teachers are often left with providing the basic things for their students. I'm so grateful for the cleaning supplies, as the basic supply list I sent to our approved vendors the first week of school still hasn't arrived. The moment the new resources arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity as they unpacked the materials—we had students literally jumping out of their seats to help open the boxes!\r\nWe've already put the resources to great use. One of the first projects we launched was a hands-on science investigation. Students worked in small groups to explore basic engineering principles using the kits you helped fund. Watching them collaborate, test their ideas, and learn through trial and error was incredibly rewarding. It transformed our classroom into a space full of discovery, problem-solving, and joyful learning.\r\nCurrently, we're building on that momentum with a unit on real-world problem-solving. These tools have made it possible for students to engage in deeper, more meaningful learning experiences. The next step is for each group to design their own mini-project using the materials—something that applies what they've learned in a creative, independent way.\r\nYour donation gave us more than just supplies—you gave my students the opportunity to grow, explore, and believe in the power of their own potential. Your support means the world to us, and I am beyond excited to share the positive impact your contribution is already having on our learning environment.\r\n\r\nAs you know, teachers work hard to create engaging, dynamic classrooms where students feel encouraged to explore their passions and unlock their full potential. However, the reality is that many schools face limitations in resources, and without the help of people like you, we would not be able to provide students with the tools they need to succeed. Thanks to your kindness, that is no longer the case.\r\n\r\nThe materials we received from your donation are already being used in meaningful ways. For example, thanks for donating supplies for gardening . These resources have already made a huge difference in our daily activities, and I have seen firsthand how they have ignited excitement and curiosity in my students. They now have access to the tools and experiences that allow them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and be more engaged in their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most wonderful aspects of your donation is how it not only supports academic growth but also fosters a sense of community and belonging within our classroom. Each time we use the new materials, I make sure to remind the students about the generosity of individuals like you, who believe in their potential and care enough to invest in their futures. This has created a deeper appreciation for the value of education and the importance of giving back.\r\n\r\nIt is impossible to overstate how much your contribution has meant to me as an educator. Your belief in our students and in the power of education is something I will carry with me as I continue to work toward fostering an inclusive and enriching environment for everyone in our class. Every day, I am reminded that it is the collective efforts of caring people like you that allow us to push forward in creating positive change\r\nMoreover, your support is not just about the materials you've provided, but also the message it sends. Your act of kindness and generosity reinforces the importance of community, the value of empathy, and the power of investing in future generations. This lesson is just as important as any academic concept I teach, and it will stay with my students for the rest of their lives.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your generosity. You've made an extraordinary impact on our classroom, and I can't wait to share all of the wonderful things that will continue to unfold thanks to your support. Please know that your gift is appreciated more than words can convey, and that we will continue to work hard to honor your belief in us.","fullyFundedDate":1739888126523,"projectUrl":"project/first-grade-gardening-group/9098853/","projectTitle":"First Grade Gardening Group","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ochoa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9656044"},{"teacherId":8956927,"projectId":8530981,"letterContent":"Thank you for the opportunity you gave my students with new classroom materials.
