Students read independently, talk with a partner, and share their thinking during class discussions. Conversations often connect the text to history, culture, and real life experiences. Students enjoy comparing myths to historical stories and noticing how lessons and values are shared across different cultures.\r\n\r\nSome students who were once hesitant readers are now more confident and excited. A few students are especially drawn to Greek mythology and love discussing gods, heroes, and myths, while others are deeply interested in learning about Native American history. Glinda, without her beautiful gown? The Wicked Witch without her signature hat and broomstick? Over 60 students from kindergarten through 2nd grade benefit daily from items like granola bars, apple sauce, and beef jerky. These snacks help fill hungry tummies, boost focus during lessons, and give students the energy they need to fully participate in their learning. Many of our students come to school without enough food to sustain them through the day, and your donation has eased that burden so they can stay engaged and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been immediate and heartfelt. Teachers notice that students are more alert during reading, math, and art, and children express excitement when they know a snack is available. For some, it is the highlight that keeps them motivated and feeling cared for.
