However, if you were here in our classrooms and ask our students and math teachers whether they prefer their smartphones, the school chromebooks, or the scientific calculators during math class, they will probably pick the scientific calculators to do the math calculations needed for the lessons!\r\n\r\nFor one, the students can literally pick up the scientific calculators quickly and press the buttons swiftly to get to the answer, instead of having to log into chromebooks, wait for it to load, and get into an app online. For another, there are no other temptations like videos and games on the smartphones or chromebooks to distract them from doing the math.\r\n\r\nThe more tech-savvy of students also noticed that the TI-30X IIS has 2 lines so that you can see your keystrokes along with the answer right below and that you can type in numerical expressions as written instead of having to type in parts backwards, like you have to for some scientific calculators and smarthphone apps.\r\n\r\nThank you for gifting our students with a straightforward tool that is efficient and helps our students stay focused on the math!","fullyFundedDate":1778015978932,"projectUrl":"project/scientific-calculators-support-grade-lev/10258128/","projectTitle":"Scientific Calculators Support Grade-Level Math","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp670564_orig.jpg?crop=2459,2459,x40,y524&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663033201266","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/670564"},{"teacherId":7073676,"projectId":9811225,"letterContent":"We received our materials and are already seeing a huge benefit! Both students and staff have interacted with our new whiteboard easel. We have also been using the easel for announcements, making it easy for students to preview what's in the library and what they might be interested in!\r\nOur new color printer has also made a massive difference. Our student helpers have already supported making bookmarks for Black History Month and mini author posters for Women's History Month. We've been able to display our fliers and library signage with so much more joy and engagement. The notebooks that we got through your donation allowed students to freely take notes to keep track of their learning. Students generally write in their notebooks at the end of a lesson as a way to summarize what they learned during the class period. What is wonderful is that these notebooks are kept in the classroom and the pages are attached, so no information is lost, misplaced, or disorganized.\r\n\r\nParticularly, some students who have used folders or binders in the past have appreciated this new way of note-keeping because they do not have to periodically spend time to clean out or organize loose papers and sometimes get frustrated in figuring out its order.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the extra batteries for graphing calculators also help students have a learning experience that is more efficient. Specifically, with enough batteries, all graphing calculators can be in use, so students do not necessarily need to wait to share with each other. Students could then use that saved time to discussed what they figure out about the math to help each other further their individual understanding.","fullyFundedDate":1755715679450,"projectUrl":"project/re-energize-our-math-classrooms/9591536/","projectTitle":"Re-Energize Our Math Classrooms","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp670564_orig.jpg?crop=2459,2459,x40,y524&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663033201266","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/670564"},{"teacherId":3583505,"projectId":9196761,"letterContent":"Thank you for your kind and generous donation to a project I feel deeply passionate about. This addition has already made a world of difference in how I'm able to support my students' learning each day. As an English teacher, having the ability to project clear, vibrant visuals has been essential, especially for my many visual learners. Whether I'm displaying sentence starters, modeling paragraph structure, or walking students through graphic organizers, the projector allows me to present these tools in a way that is immediate, engaging, and accessible to all.\r\nWhat's most exciting is how empowered my students feel with this visual support. Writing can be overwhelming, especially for those who struggle with organization or language processing. But now, I can scaffold assignments in real-time, model responses, and break down complex prompts using color-coded outlines and step-by-step visuals that stay on screen as students work. One student, who used to get stuck staring at a blank page, now eagerly begins writing as soon as the sentence frames are projected. Another tells me that seeing the structure of an essay laid out visually helps her finally \"see the big picture\" in her writing. This projector has become more than just a piece of technology; it's a daily bridge to clearer thinking, stronger writing, and more confident learners. Thank you for making that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1745496328857,"projectUrl":"project/illuminating-young-minds/9268404/","projectTitle":"Illuminating Young Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9479844_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1708983401433","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9479844"},{"teacherId":8534359,"projectId":8112410,"letterContent":"With your help students have had the freedom to explore different art materials, techniques, and practices.
