They have been working hard to learn all of the book 2 scales and songs, and we are moving onto the next level. My students love a challenge, and getting to a new book of music is way more exciting to them than just moving to the next song in the book. This was a really big milestone that you as a donor were the catalyst for. \r\n\r\nThe bass drum head with a hole in it that has been hanging on for dear life has been replaced, which breathed some life into our percussion section. We have 7 sets of bongos, but we couldn't use any of them because all of the smaller drums didn't have a drum head. We unlocked a whole new instrument with this project, and the percussionists have been majorly enjoying the new instrument that we were unable to play before. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for getting my students these resources! They are loving using them, and they are being extra careful to keep the books nice and neat.","fullyFundedDate":1777383334457,"projectUrl":"project/method-book-3-and-classroom-supplies/10231901/","projectTitle":"Method Book #3 and Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Becker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10467299_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774018775650","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-becker1"},{"teacherId":10467299,"projectId":10163215,"letterContent":"The trombones and trombone cases have already been put to great use in our classroom since showing up last week. We have a CMEA festival next Saturday, and students have been hard at work practicing for their performance. They are playing 1-2 hours in class every day, recording playing check in videos at home, and making immense progress towards their performance goals. \r\n\r\nIt has been so refreshing to see these students get to play instruments that can hold up to their hard work. Some of the trombones they have been playing are older than I am and don't stay together as they should. So students would be playing their instrument as I have taught them to do, and it would suddenly collapse in their hands and they wouldn't be able to continue playing with us until they fixed it. Some of the cases they have been using have one latch, and they have to hug the instrument so they can take it home with them instead of using the handle. \r\n\r\nYour generous donation is greatly appreciated, and these students were instantly affected the moment the supplies arrived. They were especially stoked about the pencil holders for their stands. \r\n\r\nI have a hygiene drawer in my classroom, and students are always free to grab a comb for their hair, a travel deodorant on a hot day, a travel tooth brush before they play their instrument, a period product, or a snack if they are hungry. \r\n\r\nThe guitar stand is protecting our guitars already I can tell they will be safer in our classroom with this system.
