My students have absolutely loved having these new learning toys, and we use the Magnatiles and Pipe Builders every day. This hands-on play has quickly become one of the most exciting parts of our day. What I love most is that my students are not just playing. They are building, creating, problem-solving, using their imaginations, and learning through their own ideas.\r\n\r\nThe Magnatiles have been a huge favorite because my students love building to learn. One of their favorite things to make is cars! They carefully build their cars with the Magnatiles and then drive them all around the classroom, creating their own little adventures. When they first saw the materials, they were so excited to get their hands on them and immediately began talking about all the things they wanted to build.\r\n\r\nThe Pipe Builders have inspired just as much creativity. My students love pretending to build train stations and then using their structures as part of their imaginative play. Some students have even started challenging themselves to build their names with the Pipe Builders, which has been such a fun way to connect their play to their learning.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also helped my kindergarteners develop important social skills. Since they use the resources every day, they are learning how to share, take turns, work together, talk about their ideas, and solve problems with their classmates. It has been wonderful to watch them learn to share materials, help one another, and celebrate each other's creations.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I know that many of my students come from low-income communities, and not every child has the same access to high-quality educational toys and hands-on learning materials outside of school. It means so much to me to know that, in our classroom, my students have access to these amazing resources every day. I want every child who walks into my classroom to have the opportunity to explore, create, and experience the joy of learning and playing, regardless of what resources they may have access to at home.\r\n\r\nYour note about making this donation in memory of Mr. Yarborough in Room 2 made this gift especially meaningful to me. While I may not know the full story behind that memory, I feel honored that your generosity is helping create new memories for my kindergarten students today. Every day, they are building, imagining, learning, and sharing together. In a special way, your donation is helping connect a classroom from the past with the classroom we are creating today.\r\n\r\nThank you again for honoring Mr. Yarborough in such a meaningful way and for giving my students the opportunity to learn, create, and grow together. Having these essential supplies directly in our fourth-grade classroom has brought a deep sense of ease and reassurance to our daily environment.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are using these resources to create a quiet, accessible \"care station\" right in our room. Instead of having small personal disruptions or uncomfortable distractions turn into missed learning time, students can now discretely grab what they need—whether it's a pack of tissues during cold season, hand wipes after messy hands-on science activities, or daily hygiene items to feel refreshed. Just recently, during an energetic afternoon after outdoor PE, a few students were able to quickly use the station to freshen up before diving right back into our math block. Having these supplies available completely eliminated any lingering worries and allowed everyone to return to their desks focused, comfortable, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the boxes arrive and helped unbox the supplies, their reaction was pure joy and relief. They were so excited to see how much thought went into every single item. One of my students looked through the supplies, smiled, and said, \"It feels like our classroom has everything we could ever need!\" Knowing that these kits were put together specifically for their comfort gave them an immediate sense of being cared for by a broader community.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next big step as a class is launching our collaborative Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) units and group research projects! As we move into longer periods of small-group collaboration and peer presentations, having this cozy, well-stocked environment ensures that my fourth graders can direct all their energy toward teamwork, creative thinking, and public speaking without a single second lost to daily discomfort.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provided far more than just physical products—it built a thoughtful, caring foundation where my students feel completely at ease to learn and grow every day.","fullyFundedDate":1786448190469,"projectUrl":"project/ready-healthy-and-prepared-everyday-h/10433089/","projectTitle":"Ready, Healthy, and Prepared: Everyday Hygiene Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jerry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10511040_orig.jpg?crop=448,448,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1785903493483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-jerry"},{"teacherId":10511040,"projectId":10302137,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for bringing a dedicated printer directly into our fourth-grade classroom! Having instant printing capabilities right at our fingertips has transformed how my students and I navigate our daily learning.\r\n\r\nIn today's classroom, technology and physical paper go hand-in-hand to create a complete learning experience. While my students use digital programs for research and drafting, printing allows us to bridge the gap between digital work and hands-on, active learning. Instead of students staring at screens all day, technology lets me instantly turn digital data into physical, personalized learning tools. When a student struggles with a specific math strategy, I can immediately print a targeted graphic organizer tailored to their exact need. Having printed materials in hand gives students a tactile way to annotate reading passages, highlight text evidence, and physically manipulate graphic organizers—skills that are essential for deep comprehension and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nWhat excited my students most about having our own classroom printer was the sheer speed and pride of seeing their hard work come to life! In the past, printed items had to be scheduled and picked up from a central office across campus. Now, when my fourth graders finish drafting an essay, designing a digital slide, or completing a math milestone, seeing their work print right in our room feels like a real publication moment. Their faces light up the second they hear the printer start humming!\r\n\r\nThis new printer has made a world of difference for several of my students who receive targeted reading interventions. One of my fourth graders, who often gets overwhelmed by long blocks of digital text on a screen, used to struggle with focus during reading time. Having the ability to instantly print high-contrast, single-page passages with wide margins meant he could use physical highlighters and tracking guides at his desk. Being able to mark up his own paper copy gave him an immense boost in confidence and focus—he went from avoiding reading tasks to eagerly showing off his annotated pages!\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just give us a piece of office equipment—it provided my students with immediate access to personalized learning tools, pride in their work, and seamless daily instruction. These tools have instantly become an irreplaceable part of our daily routine, transforming how my students interact with every single lesson.\r\n\r\nWe use these resources constantly throughout the day for real-time practice in both math and language arts. Just this week during a math lesson on multi-digit multiplication, instead of having students quietly work on notebook paper where mistakes can feel permanent and frustrating, everyone grabbed their whiteboards. I posed a problem, and within seconds, every student was actively sketching out area models, trying out strategies, and holding up their boards for a quick high-five or immediate feedback. When someone made a calculation error, there were no groans—just a swift swipe of their eraser and a fresh attempt right away.\r\n\r\nWhen the box first arrived and we unboxed the materials together, my students were absolutely beaming. They couldn't believe that every single one of them got their very own crisp, smooth whiteboard, a fresh marker, and an eraser to keep in their desks. One student held up his board and exclaimed, \"It feels like I'm a real math teacher!\" That immediate sense of ownership and excitement set the tone for our entire school week.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next big step is putting these tools to work in our upcoming language arts unit! We are diving into complex multisyllabic decoding and orthographic mapping. Students will be using their whiteboards to break down and map out challenging vocabulary words during small-group reading time, manipulating letters and sounds right on their boards before applying them to their full-length reading and writing projects.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just give us physical supplies—it gave my students the freedom to take risks, learn from missteps, and actively participate in their education every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1779716120555,"projectUrl":"project/show-your-work-whiteboards-for-math-and/10300166/","projectTitle":"Show Your Work: Whiteboards for Math and Language Arts","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jerry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10511040_orig.jpg?crop=448,448,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1785903493483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-jerry"},{"teacherId":10511040,"projectId":10292388,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest appreciation for your generous support of our technology project! Having high-quality, reliable wired mice and headphones in our fourth-grade classroom has completely transformed our daily learning environment.\r\n\r\nIn today's classroom, technology isn't just about watching a video; it's an interactive, personalized learning path for every child. We use adaptive software daily for both reading interventions and targeted math practice. Before your donation, students had to struggle with finicky laptop trackpads or try to focus on delicate phonics sounds while listening to classroom background noise. Now, with our new headphones, students are fully immersed in their lessons—they can hear subtle letter sounds, listen to audiobooks without distraction, and work through reading passages at their own pace. The wired mice have given small hands the precise motor control they need to drag and drop math models, plot points, and navigate complex programs efficiently.\r\n\r\nWhat excited my students the most about these new tools was simply how seamless and reliable they are! The moment they unboxed the mice, their eyes lit up over having an actual computer setup just like a real workstation. They love the instant responsiveness of the mice, and they take so much pride in plugging in their own headphones, sliding them on, and getting straight to work like \"official researchers.\"\r\n\r\nThis equipment has made the biggest impact on a few of my independent learners and those working through targeted reading interventions. One of my students, who previously found computer time overwhelming due to auditory distractions, used to constantly lose focus or get frustrated trying to manipulate trackpad buttons. Since getting her own headphones and mouse, her entire posture during tech time has changed. She pops her headphones on, comfortably uses her mouse to navigate her math modules, and now stays engaged for her entire session with a huge smile on her face.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just buy hardware—it removed daily learning barriers, built independence, and made our classroom tech time focused, equitable, and fun.
