When my students first saw the six wobble stools and the Flex-Space Balance Ball, their reactions were filled with both curiosity and relief. One student immediately asked, \"I can actually move while we do our sounds?\" Their faces lit up when I explained that these weren't just for fun, but were tools designed to help their bodies stay calm and their brains stay sharp. Even the rotating pen and art supply organizer drew a crowd; they were so eager to have a dedicated, organized spot for the highlighters and markers we use during our intensive reading drills.\r\n\r\nIn our small-group intervention sessions, these resources have already sparked a specific shift in engagement. Just yesterday, during a challenging phonics lesson, I watched a student who typically struggles with \"quiet feet\" use the balance ball to subtly bounce while we practiced word blending. Instead of his energy manifesting as a distraction, it became a rhythmic support that kept him at the table for the entire twenty-minute rotation. The rotating organizer has also become a \"command center\" for our table; students can quickly grab a different colored marker for color-coding syllables without breaking their concentration or interrupting the flow of the lesson.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps involve a deep dive into reading comprehension and fluency building. We are currently working on a \"Close Reading\" project where students use various tools to mark up complex texts. Having the wobble stools allows my students to maintain the physical \"micro-movements\" they need to stay regulated during these high-focus tasks.
