The donated materials gave students the freedom to design, create, problem-solve, and collaborate while making meaningful connections to the themes of perseverance, innovation, and using knowledge to help others.\r\n\r\nStudents were especially excited to have tangible materials to work with and turn their ideas into something they could see and share. Throughout the project, I watched students take on different roles, troubleshoot challenges, encourage their teammates, and celebrate their accomplishments. This experience helped students see themselves as inventors, problem-solvers, and leaders. Seeing students take ownership of the festival and proudly share their ideas was a powerful reminder of what happens when young people are given the resources and space to lead.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building on this experience through classroom lessons and student-led projects that highlight Black history, achievement, and contributions to our community.
