Marsyas Island is both a refuge and an escape, and my hope is that my students will see the novel this way as well. We were able to access forty feet of viewing over our school and understand the topography of the area from the birds eye perspective we were now using. We see the surrounding georgraphical features and understand how our local area is still growing. \r\n\r\nI was able to adapt many project ideas to the ability to use this drone with students. We are able to see the landscape horizon referenced in American West art of the 1800's. We studied maps of the area to see what early settlers would have valued, where it is today, and how we either destory or take care of our local resources.
