I am constantly looking for new books that represent my students and the diverse perspectives. I have been able to create a few lessons that go along with the read aloud. We used the book Stacey's Remarkable books to have the students create their own book cover for their favorite book. The students really enjoyed finding their favorite book and making a new cover for it. This reignited the passion for reading in many of my students.\r\n\r\nWe have also used the book about Mae Jemison to add to our research unit about aviators.
