One student loves drawing and is learning to say his colors (he definitely has favorites!). Another loves to build and construct. Another loves music, and to my surprise and delight, has taught himself (with some help) to take a record from its sleeve, place it on our new turntable, lift and drop the needle and viola! I am from another time and generation, and so have lots of records to share. The ability to hold and look at an LP/visual and connect it with particular songs has been especially wonderful for these sensory learners (Scott Joplin is the favorite of the month). The scarves were a bigger hit than I imagined. \r\n\r\nThe kids love touching and playing the instruments, understanding by senses how when you hold an instrument one way, no sound- but another way, sounds that you can make and control. \r\n\r\nBest of all, these items stay with the classroom for all students who come in the future.
