My students are inner city students who have all the challenges which come from low income, troubled families and social problems. They test very low on State Standard tests. The grades are K-5 and they enter our school with skills below the standard and spend the rest of their years there "catching up". On the positive side, we have new school building and students with boundless spirit. The students are eager to learn and want to prove to the community that they can make improvements. They are not giving up on themselves and we as a staff are not going to give up on them either. They deserve nothing but the best from the school community and because many of them have such a hard life at home, school is the only place where they get consistency and attention.
