When the materials arrived, my students were excited to see a variety of reading options they could choose from. We used the passages during independent reading and while teaching online. Having different reading levels available allows each student to practice with text that is appropriate for their needs.\r\n I have noticed that my students were more engaged and interested in reading when they had access to these resources. The passages provided meaningful opportunities for students to strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in Spanish. For many of my students, classroom resources are their primary opportunity to access Spanish reading materials, so having these passages available has made a meaningful difference. Thank you, DonorsChoose Community, for supporting my students.","fullyFundedDate":1601510409459,"projectUrl":"project/fun-spanish-reading-fluency-passages-are/5173610/","projectTitle":"Fun Spanish Reading Fluency Passages Are Needed","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Medina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6074938"},{"teacherId":10058804,"projectId":10109084,"letterContent":"Thank you so much to our generous donors for providing us with new storage containers, arts and crafts supplies, and a much-needed paper tray! The new containers have made it much easier to organize our toys and art materials, allowing both students and teachers to find what we need quickly and easily. We were also able to use some of the containers to create sensory bins, which have quickly become a favorite activity for our students. They enjoy exploring the different materials, using their senses, and engaging in hands-on learning.\r\nOur students were excited to see the new materials and have enjoyed having more opportunities to create, explore, and learn through play. The new paper tray was especially helpful because our previous one was falling apart, so having a sturdy place to organize our paper has made a big difference in our classroom. These resources have helped us create a more organized and inviting learning environment where students can focus on exploring and learning rather than searching for materials. As we continue with our classroom projects and lessons, we look forward to using these supplies to encourage creativity, sensory exploration, and hands-on learning. We are truly grateful to our donors for helping make these experiences possible for our students!","fullyFundedDate":1774963785801,"projectUrl":"project/supply-the-spark-art-for-every-little-a/10109084/","projectTitle":"Supply the Spark: Art for Every Little Artist","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10058804_orig.jpg?crop=2448,2448,x0,y106&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771480462045","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10058804"},{"teacherId":197579,"projectId":10076068,"letterContent":"My students (from last year and this year) have been over the moon with this specially curated area that is so inviting and welcoming. Being able to have the actual book in front of them while reading helped improve engagement with the story so that all of my students felt like they were with Milo in the Lands of Beyond. Reading in my class involved doing read-alouds and having the students take turns reading out their own sections. They were able to practice their reading fluency and stretch their theater muscles by trying out different voices for the characters. \r\n\r\nThey all loved practicing their reading skills, and The Phantom Tollbooth is full of fun examples of figurative language to puzzle over. My class made finding each one and identifying it as we read a game where they received points for every example they correctly identified. We even integrated social studies skills by doing a project to recreate Milo's map, and they recorded what life lessons they learned.\r\n\r\nThey were very excited by the story and anytime one of the life lessons they learned through Milo's journey, like different points of view, not jumping to conclusions, or appreciating what you have) popped up during the day, they started shouting out, \"Holy Phantom Tollbooth, everyone!\" So thank you for making our classroom experience richer!","fullyFundedDate":1778207535054,"projectUrl":"project/a-tollbooth-for-knowledge/10267013/","projectTitle":"A Tollbooth For Knowledge!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bakr","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10496525"},{"teacherId":9927019,"projectId":9120485,"letterContent":"This collection of books has provided my students with a unique and engaging opportunity for them to gain literacy skills. The students were so excited when I showed them all the fun, new games that we had received. There was truly something for everyone! We have been having a lot of fun while practicing our phonics and reading skills.\r\n\r\nThe Letter Sequence game has helped my kindergartners identify the first sounds in words. Super Words and Sight Word Bingo have been a hit with the first and second graders who are building the list of words they can read by sight. The third, fourth and fifth graders are clamoring to play Boggle and Bananagrams, which are really challenging their spelling skills. Finally, all the grades love the Scrabble Junior, because it has two versions and challenges everyone to spell words at their level. \r\n\r\nThe students and I simply cannot thank you enough for making this happen!
