We are learned about butterflies. It was a thematic unit involving all areas of the curriculum to learn about butterflies.\r\n\r\nWe asked for habitat for butterflies and butterfly stickers to decorate a diorama.\r\nThe students were able to observe the life cycle of the butterfly, learn about butterfly body parts, and learn how to set up a butterfly garden to attract butterflies in their garden. The magnifying bug viewer and magnifying glass were used at a center to observe caterpillars and their growth. The stickers were also used as writing incentive so they can write informational pieces describing butterflies. With these resources they enjoyed science while learning about insects. My students will be able to see me modeling lessons and the example will be very close to them. The resources in this project are helping my students access materials in a quick organized way. The classroom provides students with a more dynamic environment where they are encouraged to explore, interact, and take ownership of their learning. \r\n\r\nStudents showed excitement when opening the new materials and were excited to use the new material. They were actively engaged in the materials and continue to use them daily. Students enjoy using the kinetic sand and the chair bands when sitting in small groups. The goal is to have my students take materials they need to work with and store them when they are finished so they can use them the next day. I also asked for an electric stapler and a manual stapler to put together homework as well as classwork.
