I had the joy to open some of the supplies boxes with the 5th grade students (after a math lesson about volume of a rectangular prism!), and the students had excitement after every supply item we pulled out. We are very thankful for items as simple as Kleenex and Clorox Wipes, and thankful for items that meet specific student needs - like sensory items in the cozy corner for when students need to take a break. Students really enjoy the individual whiteboards and markers, so that they can respond to questions asked during the small group sessions. I like it because I'm able to easily check if students are understanding the lesson or need more support. \r\n\r\nWhen I shared with the students that some of my friends and family donated for school supplies, and that some random people donated, people who cared about students having the essential school supplies, they were so in awe and grateful. We took some time to reflect on the supplies we received, and how we are thankful. Students practiced their letter writing skills and you will see some examples of those within the photos that were shared with this project. \r\n\r\nThank you again so much for your donations and your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1757532502420,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-mrs-casado/9661435/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Mrs. Casado","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Casado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4573431_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y937&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756999850181","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4573431"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7405","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":517,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.8,"schoolId":7405,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Accelerated Charter Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Accelerated Charter Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/accelerated-charter-school/7405"}
