The water dispenser, water jugs, and wide variety of snacks you provided became far more than simple supplies—they became essential tools in building a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, especially those balancing academic responsibilities with family demands, extracurriculars, and work, basic needs can sometimes become barriers to learning. Having consistent access to clean, cold water and nourishing snacks ensured that every student could stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn throughout the day. These resources helped reduce stress, improved students' ability to regulate their energy and attention, and ensured that no student had to choose between participating in class and meeting their basic needs.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the presence of these supplies sent a powerful message: our classroom is a community that cares about the whole student. Your contribution helped us create a space where students feel valued, supported, and able to show up as their full selves. The impact reached beyond academics—students built stronger relationships, felt more confident asking for help, and showed greater engagement and resilience.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us cultivate a learning environment rooted in dignity, belonging, and well-being. Your generosity truly made a difference in our students' daily lives.","fullyFundedDate":1755711890073,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-hydration-snack-station/9443282/","projectTitle":"Creating a Hydration & Snack Station","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Landa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9211818_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692683031089","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9211818"},{"teacherId":9211818,"projectId":9441848,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support! Our students were able to engage deeply in their learning and college-readiness journey this year. The materials you provided, such as journals, pens, pencils, and colored ink, became essential tools that supported reflection, self-monitoring, organization, and authentic engagement.\r\n\r\nThe journals were especially impactful. Students used them daily to track their progress, reflect on their academic habits, set personal goals, and document the steps they were taking toward college and career readiness. Many shared that this was the first time they had been encouraged to think intentionally about their growth, and having their own dedicated journals helped make the process meaningful and personal.\r\n\r\nThe pens, pencils, and colored ink brought structure and creativity to their work. Students used them to annotate texts, organize their Cornell notes, highlight key learning, and visually map out their postsecondary plans. These simple materials helped increase ownership and pride in their work, particularly for students who often hesitate to express themselves in writing.\r\n\r\nYour contribution directly supported in preparing students—many of whom are first-generation college-bound—for success beyond high school. You helped create a classroom environment where students felt prepared, supported, and taken seriously as scholars. Their confidence grew each week as they built organizational skills, strengthened academic habits, and saw themselves as capable of achieving their goals.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for providing the tools that allowed them to thrive. Your generosity made a real, daily difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1755711491500,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-restock/9441848/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials Restock","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Landa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9211818_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692683031089","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9211818"},{"teacherId":9211818,"projectId":8990219,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for the support you have given my classroom and my students! I consider myself fortunate to get to work with both Freshmen and Seniors. Though at very different points of their education, each grade level is going through a transition that can cause tons of stress, anxiety, and confusion. When students are going through challenging episodes - or simply need a pick-me-up - having the ability to share healthy snacks and drinks with them has been a total game changer. It also contributed immensely towards creating an environment where students felt safe, seen, and heard.","fullyFundedDate":1739379936791,"projectUrl":"project/snacking-to-keep-our-brains-positive/8990219/","projectTitle":"Snacking to Keep Our Brains Positive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Landa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9211818_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692683031089","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9211818"},{"teacherId":5828773,"projectId":8888628,"letterContent":"I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of ukuleles to our club at Cabrillo high school. Your support is making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, many of whom come from low-income and diverse backgrounds and might not otherwise have access to musical instruments or music programs.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has already begun to resonate—both literally and figuratively—with our students. Their eyes lit up with joy when the ukuleles arrived and they unboxed them. The ukuleles have opened up new opportunities for our students to explore their creativity, build confidence, and engage in collaborative learning through music. For many, this is their first time holding an instrument of their own, and the excitement and pride they feel are truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of music to spread joy, build community and create a more equitable access to musical instruments. \r\n\r\nWe are continuing to expand the opportunities by encouraging more students to join the Ukulele program. In addition, we are currently learning our first song now that every student has an instrument in their hands. We plan to perform at a cultural fair for the school, showcasing our students new skills and spreading joy.","fullyFundedDate":1739716647210,"projectUrl":"project/ukuleles-for-our-students/8888628/","projectTitle":"Ukuleles for Our Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5828773_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y184&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668706471530","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/worldofsciencelbc"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25445","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1721,"numTeachers":103,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.1,"schoolId":25445,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/long-beach-unified-school-district/cabrillo-high-school/25445"}
