Our students come from various backgrounds, most of whom come from backgrounds that are very challenging. When the pandemic hit, many families lost their jobs and were faced with economic hardships. I have students bringing in little Ziploc baggies of shampoo and wash because they can't afford to bring in a bottle for their locker room. Many of our students do not have the funds and resources to bring basic essentials needed for the shower after swim/water polo practice. It would be so great if our students don't have to worry about having basic supplies to take care of their hygiene. They will be able to focus on being their best at practice, games, and meets. We know that student mental health will greatly improve when they are not concerned about being clean and smelling of chlorine when they leave the pool deck.
