My 9th grade students are taking an AVID elective class. They will need a binder and additional materials to help with organization for all their classes. We will work on being successful in academics as well as extra curricular activities. Due to low income, the materials necessary are challenging for students' families to provide. With these materials, my students will be able to succeed in a college/career going culture. They are striving to meet their personal and academic goals and having necessary school supplies will facilitate their success. In order to close the opportunity gap, students need to prepare for college, careers, and life. Additional academic, social, and emotional support will help them succeed in their school’s most rigorous courses.

About my class
