The generous funding of the grant purchased Dogman both 1-10 box set and 1-6 box set, Catwad entire 6 book series, Hilda complete 6 book series, 2 copies each of the 3 books in the New Kid series, and a set of 4 books from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. These graphic novels are so popular that Mr. H advised we ration out the new books, only putting 3-4 out in each class period rather than all at once so that more students would get the chance to read them. \r\nProcessing and seeing the reactions to the new books was the highlight of my day. The students were overjoyed, with some showing off that they were the first ones to read the new books and admiring the fresh crisp pages. One moment that really stood out was a group of boys making plans of the order they were going to go in taking turns to read a new copy of Dogman. I'm really proud of the success of this project and I am grateful that I got to help process and shelve the new books, because I saw immediately how well received they were. These books are each going to be read hundreds of times and never even see the shelves, because they will constantly be in students' hands.","fullyFundedDate":1741118165264,"projectUrl":"project/graphic-novels-for-our-library/9114320/","projectTitle":"Graphic Novels for Our Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9923928_orig.jpg?crop=897,897,x0,y352&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739551182699","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923928"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24805","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":810,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"23.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.7,"schoolId":24805,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Abraham Lincoln Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Abraham Lincoln Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/long-beach-unified-school-district/abraham-lincoln-elementary-school/24805"}
