Your donation made an immediate and meaningful impact. As soon as my students walked in and saw the new supplies, flexible seating, and podium, their faces lit up with excitement. For many of them, something as simple as having their own folder, fresh paper, or a comfortable seat was a big deal—something that made them feel valued, capable, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun using the materials in a genetics and heredity project where students create visual posters to explain how traits are passed from parents to offspring. The new poster paper and colorful pens encouraged even my most hesitant learners to dive into the activity. One student who usually avoids participating proudly stood at the podium to present his group's work—something he had never volunteered to do before. Watching him stand taller, speak louder, and smile afterward was a moment I won't forget, and it was made possible because of you.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next unit, students will continue using the flexible seating for small-group discussions and the organizational supplies to keep track of their lab notes and assignments. The sense of ownership and pride they now feel in their work is helping build consistency and confidence. Your kindness didn't just provide materials—it provided momentum. Thank you for giving my students the tools and encouragement to continue growing. Your generosity is shaping their success every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1755713988942,"projectUrl":"project/empower-learning-organization-engageme/9265529/","projectTitle":"Empower Learning: Organization, Engagement, and a Place to Belong","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bogner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8934911_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y227&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717101477000","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8934911"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79617","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2543,"numTeachers":81,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":75,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"31.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.0,"schoolId":79617,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highland High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/kern-high-school-district/highland-high-school/79617"}
