These new books created wonderful opportunities for students reading at multiple levels to find stories they could truly enjoy. Because our library now reflects the wide range of learners in our room, every student was able to discover a book that matched their interests and abilities. My higher-level readers were especially excited about The Secret Zoo series, which quickly became one of the most popular choices on our shelves.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just add books to our room—it inspired a genuine love of reading. With more titles to choose from, students were eager to explore, talk about what they were reading, and make recommendations to their classmates. The sense of community built around these stories was incredible to watch. The smiles on their faces were endless, and they expressed so much gratitude for the wonderful books they could enjoy throughout the school day. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1761591481681,"projectUrl":"project/turning-pages-shaping-futures/9599211/","projectTitle":"Turning Pages, Shaping Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ornelas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7739513"},{"teacherId":2036476,"projectId":9045904,"letterContent":"Thank you once again for your generous support of our project on DonorsChoose. It's more than just a project; it's a memory of our time together and a reminder of all the learning, laughter, and growth we've shared this year. I imagine them looking back on it years from now and smiling at what they accomplished and experienced.\r\nWe truly could not have made this happen without your support. From the very first week, our students' excitement has been obvious. They have already begun coding with Micro:Bits, experimenting with SnapCircuits, and practicing critical thinking through design challenges. Their conversations now center on what they can create, how to solve problems, and how to refine their work.\r\n\r\nOur teaching team has started creating STEM specific lessons to go with the new equipment. We are learning how to use each tool ourselves so that we can guide students in meaningful, hands-on explorations. Planning together has sparked new ideas for how to structure rotations, support collaboration, and ensure every student gets access to coding, building, and design opportunities. The excitement among teachers is just as strong as it is among students.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students are not just consuming technology. They are creating, testing, and iterating. They are developing resilience as they learn to debug code, rebuild circuits, and refine designs. These opportunities are helping them gain confidence and see themselves as problem solvers. We look forward to showcasing their projects, including 3D printed designs and hands on engineering builds, and we are deeply grateful for your investment in their futures.\r\n\r\nWarmly,\r\nMr. Holton, Mrs. Jacobson, and Mrs. Siebert\r\nYour 4th-Grade Teachers","fullyFundedDate":1756095099975,"projectUrl":"project/4th-grade-stem-rotations-code-build-p/9596548/","projectTitle":"4th Grade STEM Rotations: Code, Build, Print & Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Holton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3660740_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720561742955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3660740"},{"teacherId":3660740,"projectId":8489139,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all of your support on this project. It has already made such a positive impact on our classroom! In December our class read The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe as a class novel study. Our culminating project for this novel turned into a group project, 3 4th grade groups and 3 5th grade groups, making a stop-motion animation.\r\nOur project began with each person in the group getting a role to play during the pre-production, production and post-production part of the project. From there they had to make and design their characters and scenes, and write a script. Once this was accomplished, students began recording their stop-motion animated film. Each film is 1-3 minutes long and consists of hundreds of pictures!\r\nStudents will be adding these to their digital website portfolios for parents to view later this school year. I look forward to future use through green-screen movies, interviews, and more animated projects.","fullyFundedDate":1730430684820,"projectUrl":"project/dream-explore-imagine-empowering-youn/8489139/","projectTitle":"Dream, Explore, Imagine: Empowering Young Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Holton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3660740_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720561742955","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3660740"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92939","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":899,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":53,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":23,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"32.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":92939,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Turtle Rock Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Turtle Rock Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/irvine-unified-school-district/turtle-rock-elementary-school/92939"}
