Our school library is is desperate need of updating. The average age of our library books is from 1995. That is unacceptable for a library which is supposed to be the heart of a school. With this project I plan to purchase current, engaging books to motivate our students to read. The characters and illustrations of the books I chose will show a diverse population—something I hope will enable readers to connect with the texts. By updating our library, I know that it can become a place where students can't wait to come to, and to get lost in a good book.
