Every morning and afternoon we have small group centers. We consistently rotate through the items. They love building wands with the pipes. One student has even made glasses. With the dominos they loved to build chairs or even make letters! They have been using the connecting blocks to make houses and castles! Our light table has gotten more excitement and use due to your donations. Students love to sort the shapes by ones that are transparent or not. They lined up the dominos and tried to make patterns. With the letters they loved making their name or putting it in ABC order. The bug game has taught us to take turns and helped with words such as horizontal or vertical when we need to reset it. The linking chains have been used to make necklaces but it also has been helping students to create patterns. One student connected all the orange and purple chains to make a long pattern.\r\n\r\nWhen we first introduced the materials they were so excited! They had started to make some connections (connect four and the bug fall game). They were so excited to jump right into using all of them! The one they have the most excitement is the parachute. They have been loving making it go up and down. The first we did is each student had a number and when they heard their number they got to run through it. I hope to find more fun and engaging games we can do. \r\n\r\nI am always impressed with the students curiosity and imagination. I hope we continue to build and create!
