These materials have already made a huge difference. My students now walk into class and see fully stocked whiteboards, disinfected desks, and tissues ready without needing to ask. They dive right into literary analysis, group debates, and peer reviews without being distracted by dried-out markers or messy supplies.\r\n\r\nWe recently did a poetry gallery walk where students moved around the room analyzing different stanzas on wall easel pads. They wrote down interpretations, responded to each other's ideas, and made connections across the room. The new pads made it easy to display their thinking, and students were proud to see their words become part of the learning environment.\r\n\r\nWhen I unpacked the big box of supplies, a few students actually clapped. One of them said, \"YES! Real Expo markers!\" Others rushed to grab a new color or wipe down the boards so we could start fresh. I even overheard a student say, \"I love when everything feels clean, it makes me want to work harder.\" That says it all.\r\n\r\nWe're about to start a Socratic seminar series, where students will use the easel pads and whiteboards to prep questions, track evidence from texts, and map themes across multiple works. These materials aren't just helping us stay organized...they're powering deeper learning and giving students the tools to collaborate confidently.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we're able to learn in a space that feels cared for, equipped, and full of energy. My students have been so excited to dive into this classic horror novel. The books have allowed us to launch into rich discussions that sharpen both their reading skills and their critical thinking. Right now, our class is split into two groups: one arguing that the ghosts are real, and the other convinced that everything is happening in the governess's mind. This debate has sparked lively conversations about point of view, reliability of narration, and how authors use ambiguity to keep readers unsettled.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and communal. Students sit in circles with their copies open, annotating in the margins, sharing observations, and backing up their claims with textual evidence. The room often buzzes with energy as students challenge one another's interpretations or point out subtle details in James's prose. It's the kind of engagement every teacher dreams of—where reading feels less like an assignment and more like a thrilling puzzle they're eager to solve together.\r\n\r\nThis novel has also been the perfect continuation of our previous unit on The Catcher in the Rye. Students immediately connected the narrators: both Holden and the governess desperately want to preserve innocence, and both wrestle with the tension between protection and obsession. A few students who struggled to connect with Holden are now thriving in this new unit, fascinated by the eerie atmosphere and psychological complexity of James's story. Watching them discover their own love of classic literature has been one of the highlights of our year—and it wouldn't have been possible without your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1751390373362,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-spooked-academically-with-t/9242178/","projectTitle":"Let’s Get Spooked (Academically!) with The Turn of the Screw","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Werth","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4682807_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1503432821218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4682807"},{"teacherId":9626179,"projectId":9194677,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to this project.
