During our hands-on planting days, students worked collaboratively in small teams—measuring soil, spacing roots, and learning how native species adapt to local climate conditions. One of our favorite moments was watching students take ownership of their specific planter, stepping back to see how the lush native greenery immediately began softening the sharp metal fence and blocking out the surrounding industrial landscape.
