I am the coach for the Drone Racing Team at our school. Students apply STEM learning to learning to fly and maintain drones. Then they enter competition racing other teams from other schools.\r\n\r\nDrone flying is a valuable skill that can be used for many practical purposes. There are many companys that are using drone pilots to provide images and/or survilance for a variety of needs. The skills directly translate. Students also learn to work together as a team meeting different needs including organization, maintenance, strategy, and piloting. \r\n\r\nWith this additional computer, my students will be prepared for the next competition and beyond. My students used the materials to construct an edible DNA model. With these resources, I was able to provide my students a variety of options to construct their DNA model. Each student was able to use either twizzlers or red vines to use as the backbone of the DNA model and either marshmallows or gummy bears for the middle of the the DNA model. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when they saw the materials. They immediately asked if they could eat it once they were done.
