It feels amazing to provide essential items to our students, and this experience has been incredibly fulfilling. \r\n\r\n Our students, especially the younger preteens, were absolutely thrilled to see the Care Closet. They often hesitate to ask for basic necessities, but now they can come to our room freely, without any worries or fears. And when accidents happen, it's perfectly okay because we're here to support them.\r\n\r\n I'm really excited about the possibility of expanding our Care Closet in the future! My goal is to keep it fully stocked with essential items so that our students can focus more on their education, while we step in to help with their basic needs whenever they require assistance.","fullyFundedDate":1746787245713,"projectUrl":"project/the-care-closet-for-our-students/9052629/","projectTitle":"The Care Closet For Our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Terry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9823213_orig.jpg?crop=474,474,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732143693401","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9823213"},{"teacherId":9990925,"projectId":9231319,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the generous contribution of the Light and Sensory Table to our Transitional Kindergarten classroom. Since its arrival, the table has quickly become a central part of our daily learning environment, providing countless opportunities for exploration, creativity, and sensory development. Our TK students are naturally curious, hands-on learners, and the Light and Sensory Table has provided them with an engaging and calming space to explore multiple manipulative. \r\n\r\nStudents have been using pom pots and counters for developing math skills and fine motor skills. Most importantly, the table is promoting social skills. Students naturally gather around it, working together, sharing materials, and developing problem-solving and communication skills in a cooperative setting.\r\n\r\nThis resource has made a meaningful difference in our classroom. It has supported multiple areas of development (academic, social-emotional, and sensory) all while providing a joyful, engaging learning experience. On behalf of our students and school community, thank you again for your support. Your generosity has helped create a learning environment where curiosity shines and every child has the opportunity to grow through hands-on discovery.","fullyFundedDate":1746786093132,"projectUrl":"project/light-and-sensory/9231319/","projectTitle":"Light and Sensory","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Yang","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9990925"},{"teacherId":9904665,"projectId":9372794,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now has flexible seating options that are already transforming how my students learn. The new seats allow students to choose a space that best supports their focus and comfort—whether that's sitting on a wobble \"ball\" stool during small-group math or while reading a book during library.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments so far was during a writing activity. A student who often struggles to stay engaged proudly settled into a wobble ball and, for the first time this year, remained on task for the entire assignment. The look on his face when he finished his work said it all—he felt capable and successful.\r\n\r\nWhen the seating first arrived, my students were beyond excited. Their faces lit up as they explored the new seating option, and they immediately began trying out different spots to see what felt right. Many commented, \"This makes it so much easier to focus!\" or \"I feel calm here.\" The flexibility has not only supported attention and self-regulation but has also given them a sense of ownership in their learning space.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide furniture—it created opportunities for independence, confidence, and joy in learning for students who need it most. On behalf of my class, thank you for believing in them and helping make our classroom a place where all students can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1748382507555,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-more-productive-learning-envi/9372794/","projectTitle":"Creating a More Productive Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thatcher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9904665"},{"teacherId":9938050,"projectId":9149179,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Autism Inclusion Program! Your generosity has had a meaningful impact on our classroom and has helped create a more inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for all students, especially our students with autism.\r\n\r\nWith the new materials, we've been able to implement sensory-friendly tools, visual supports, and collaborative learning activities that make a real difference in how our students learn and interact. One memorable moment was during a social skills lesson where students used emotion cards and storyboards to role-play peer interactions. It was incredible to see both neurodiverse and neurotypical students working together, learning how to communicate more effectively and with greater empathy.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new resources, they were full of curiosity and joy. One of our students who usually struggles with transitions smiled and said, \"This helps me calm down,\" while using one of our new sensory items. Moments like that remind me just how powerful your support is.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we're continuing to build on this progress by introducing more structured peer-partner activities and classroom projects that emphasize collaboration and inclusion. Your contribution has laid a foundation for ongoing growth, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Thank you for being a vital part of this journey.","fullyFundedDate":1743279575321,"projectUrl":"project/funding-for-a-brand-new-classroom/9149179/","projectTitle":"Funding for a Brand-New Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Inthavong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9938050"},{"teacherId":9823213,"projectId":8914349,"letterContent":"First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Donors Choose and everyone involved for their generous donations that have made such a positive impact on our classroom and our students. Your support has enabled us to provide supplies for our class and enrich our outdoor activities during recess. It's wonderful to see our students engage in board games and build creative structures with Magna-Tiles, allowing them to explore their imaginations. \r\n\r\nMany of our students feel shy about joining sports, but offering diverse outdoor activities has encouraged them to participate and make new friends. It's truly a joy to witness kids playing Jenga, learning patience, and developing strategic thinking skills. We organize outdoor activities three times a week, and it's a highlight for all of us!\r\n\r\nOn the other two days, we gather in our classroom to enjoy educational yet entertaining shows. The fidget tools provide a discreet way for them to manage anxiety or restlessness, helping them return to the learning environment feeling more centered. The SEL books have been instrumental in facilitating meaningful discussions during small group sessions. We recently read a story about handling frustration, and students eagerly connected the characters' experiences to their own lives. \r\n\r\nOne particularly memorable moment occurred during our first art-based SEL project.
