Having a 3D printer has been great for my student's learning. We have used this machine to create 3d shapes during our geometry unit. Students really enjoyed selecting their colors for this project. Once created they used them to describe the attributes of each shape. The level of creativity this has opened for my students has been so meaningful. We are looking forward to our next project, making game pieces for a boardgame! After that we studied angles and quadrilaterals through the use of computer slides. In the end, students wrote an opinion essay on whether or not the Scallywag captain should chase the monkey, that stole the ruby up the flag pole. It was a fun and engaging day! They also completed a five paragraph essay about what makes Percy Jackson a hero. We have also used the acrylic paint markers for our culminating activity, after learning about animal adaptations. They painted mini bird houses with these markers.
