The Wild Robot books have provided literary discussions helping students reach a whole new level. During our Socratic Seminars, the room buzzes with energy. Because they love the material, reading has become a pleasurable experience. \r\n\r\nWhile the entire class has benefited, these books have been a game-changer for a few specific groups. In particular, several of our reluctant readers—who previously struggled to stay focused during reading periods—have been completely captivated. For instance, one student who used to avoid reading at all costs recently asked if they could take The Wild Robot home to continue reading because they \"just couldn't wait to see what happens next.\" Furthermore, seeing characters navigate adversities and complex relationships has given many students opportunities to practice social emotional skills as they build friendships.","fullyFundedDate":1772149329150,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-the-wild-robot-a-classroom-ad/9865617/","projectTitle":"Exploring The Wild Robot: A Classroom Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Solano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10336201_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1780488709631","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10336201"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_95183","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":734,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":37,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":15,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"28.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":83.8,"schoolId":95183,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cordelia Hills Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cordelia Hills Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/fairfield-suisun-unified-school-district/cordelia-hills-elementary-school/95183"}
