Along with reading the text, we also kept a narrative journal, outlining our travels alongside Esperanza and her family. Our narrative journals included descriptive language, figurative language, and dialogue. We also practiced with using synonyms for \"said\", so our writing will be more interesting. Our reading took us even further and we made Esperanza Rising dioramas that showcased the highlights of each chapter.
