If you step foot into my classroom, one of the most striking sights you'll see is how respectful, kind, and dedicated my students are toward each other and to the learning process. Despite facing challenges and traumas on a daily basis while living in an underserved community, many of my students show up to school with a smile on their faces. They have the desire to learn more about the world and to expand their knowledge beyond the perimeters of their personal lives.
