It's amazing to be able to direct my students to a bin of her books after we've read one of her novels together as a class. I am still working on this big project but I've gotten a lot done. Students store their books in colorful book bins for daily reading. As you can see in the pictures, we use construction paper, paint, and glue for many projects, from animal reports to Earth Day art. At the end of the year, we did lots of engineering projects with our new extensive popsicle stick and clothespin collection. We use stickers weekly for a special math program the students love, and we went through a lot of painter's tape for our Juneteenth chalk art. The stickers are used weekly for a math extension activity we do, and the counting collections materials like buttons, keys, and erasers have been put into pouches for students to count a variety of ways. The five sets of the Rat-a-Tat-Tat game are played almost daily and were even taken out at Open House with parents.
